TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Ashley Moody released the following statement ahead of Independence Day:

“It was on this day, 243 years ago, that our founders and 13 colonies officially declared we would be a nation of free people. Since that time, the United States of America has continued to build and abide by our creed of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all individuals. We, as Americans, must continue to celebrate, promote and protect fiercely the virtues of democracy and freedom at home and across the world. Happy Fourth of July and God Bless the USA!”
